To promote a better understanding of family businesses in the region, the Center collaborated with the Coutts & Co. in their first “Coutts Prize for Family Business Hong Kong 2013”. Roger King was the Chair of the independent evaluation committee; Winnie Peng, a member of the evaluation committee, was responsible for interviews with family business nominees in Hong Kong. In June 2013, the prizes were presented to four leading family businesses (Lee Kum Kee, Sun Hing, Luen Thai and AML) over a gala dinner attended by several hundred participants. The event drew attention to the local business community and was a good exposure of our Center. Lee Kum Kee and Sun Hing chose to conduct a case study with our Center as their prize.
