On December 7-9, one of the Roger King Center for Asian Family Business and Family Office's major educational programs “HKUST Global Family Leader Succession Program: Family Succession and Governance” was successfully launched.
Renowned family business scholars and prominent family business owners formed a decent faculty team. Family business owners and their family members from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia attended the program, representing a diverse range of industries with balanced representation of both the current generation and next generation leaders of the families.
The program offered original research and case studies that address the practical challenges faced by Asian family businesses, covering topics such as family governance, succession planning, decision making and family trust.
The program has received enormous positive feedback from the participants. Participants described the program as practical, useful, and filled with valuable insights that are applicable to both personal and professional life.
“This program wouldn’t have been successful without the support and guidance from the Dean of Business School Prof. Kar Yan Tam, our Center’s Senior Advisor Prof. Roger King, and the two Program Advisors Dr. Vincent H.S. LO and Prof. Jess Chua," said Prof. Winnie Qian Peng, the Director of the Roger King Center for Asian Family Business and Family Office. The Center will continue to conduct such educational programs in the future.
