Professor Roger King, Senior Advisor and Founding Director of Asian Family Business and Entrepreneurship Studies was invited to speak at the first part of the Evolving Roles of Family Office Webinar Series, hosted by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), attracting about 70 invited members of the Chamber in managerial and senior executive levels on the Monday morning on September 21.
Prof. King stressed family offices of ultra-high net worth families have brought together a wide range of global professionals from various background to Asia, and its function is no longer restricted to traditional financial services. The educational programs HKUST Business School offered and the University’s Guangzhou campus initiatives have been an asset for cultivating next generation family business leaders, taking advantages from the School’s track record of premier accredited programs and the Center’s research studies in the field.
Joining the panel discussion were Anthony Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Isola Capital, and Dixon Wong, Head of Financial Services, Invest Hong Kong, and the session was moderated by Agnes Chan, Chairman of HKGCC Financial and Treasury Services Committee. The panel was preceded by a keynote speech from Edmond Lau, Senior Executive Director of Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
