The Center co-organized the Family Wealth Management Training Program with Noah Private Bank in November 2011. Over 50 Ultra High Net Worth Individuals from Mainland China attended this two-day program. The Center’s Director Roger King was one of the instructors. The program consisted of the case studies of the family business related cases written by the Center, as well as lectures on family business, which included: Challenges in Preparing the Next Generation to Take Over the Family Business; Family Business Growth and Exiting Strategy; Family Governance and Family Business Governance; Mixing Family and Non-family Managers in a Family Business. After the case study on succession using the Crown Pacific case, the participants had a tour of the wine cellar owned by Jim Thompson, the Chairman of Crown Pacific, and a talk on wine etiquette at the cellar. The evening ended with a wine pairing dinner. The unique arrangement was widely appreciated by the participants.
