A luncheon seminar on “Working across Cultures: A Tale of Two Family Businesses in Germany and China” was held at China Club on October 9, 2018. Kindly sponsored by EY, the luncheon attracted about 30 family business leaders. The seminar showcased how Mr. Ulrich Siekmann, CEO, President and third-generation owner of the German SieMatic Group teamed up with the Chinese Nison Group, a home appliance manufacturer, to drive future growth. This was preceded by a research sharing by Professor Winnie Peng on transformation and upgrading of Chinese family businesses, and a backgrounder of German family businesses by Mr. Stefan Klemm, Founder and Chairman of the German Entrepreneurs Club.
